(Worthy News) – Students from Cedarville Christian university in Ohio have been traveling to share the love of God and the message of salvation at other colleges, especially at Michigan State University which has been grieving the loss of three students killed in a mass shooting earlier this month, the Christian Post (CP) reports.

In an interview with the Christian Post, Cedarville student Gabriel Cherry said that, following an evening of worship and prayer on campus on Tuesday evening last week, he and scores of his fellow students felt led by God to share the Gospel and minister to students on other college campuses. As the students talked about where to go, Michigan University soon came up.

“We talked about it for a few minutes and felt convicted that we needed to find a team and go to MSU to love on a campus that was hurting. After all, what’s the point of brokenness and darkness if it is not for the light to shine through?” Cherry told The Christian Post. “Over the next 14 hours, the Lord provided us with a 15-passenger van, a place to spend the night, a contact on campus at MSU, and 14 people willing to make the trip. It was clear that this was what we had to do.”

Arriving at MSU on Wednesday afternoon, the Cedarville students walked up to people on the campus, asking how they are doing, praying with them and sharing the Gospel with them, CP reports. They also held a candlelight vigil in memory of Alexandria Verner, Arielle Anderson and Brian Fraser
who were shot dead on February 14th by a 43-year-old man who then killed himself.
“There were many sobering conversations that we had with students who were going through an unimaginable pain, but we were able to pray for them and encourage them in an eternal hope,” Cherry said. “God’s name was being lifted up in the midst of darkness, and the students were able to be encouraged, not by our efforts, but by the provision of the Lord.”
