WASHINGTON (Worthy News) – Former U.S. President Mike Pence has entered the presidential race to run against his ex-boss, Donald J. Trump.

The move underscores sharp differences between the two men, which emerged after Pence certified the last elections that the U.S. Congress agreed had been won by Joe Biden.

Trump maintains the 2020 presidential vote was tainted by fraud, despite losing numerous legal challenges.

Pence, an outspoken evangelical Christian, was to publicly kick off the campaign in Des Moines, Iowa, on Wednesday by releasing a video and an in-person event.

Ahead of the event, the Federal Election Commission’s website showed Pence and his campaign committee, ‘Mike Pence for President’ in Carmel, Indiana, officially registering Monday.

The race to the White House won’t be easy. Besides Trump, the former vice president will face a host of other candidates in the run for the Republican party’s presidential nomination, including Florida Governor Ron DeSantis.

The announcement came as Trump and Pence were already competing for media attention with Trump’s lawyers moving to the justice department.

They were to argue to top officials that the former president should not be charged over the classified documents found at his Mar-a-Lago home, sources said.
