(Worthy News) – Radicalized Islamic Fulani herdsmen murdered three more villagers in Nigeria’s Kaduna state in an ongoing campaign of land grabbing, murder, kidnapping, rape, and displacement across northern Nigeria and parts of the south, International Christian Concern (ICC) reports. Fulani herdsmen in Nigeria have murdered and committed other atrocities against tens of thousands of Christians, particularly since northern Nigerian states declared themselves under Islamic Sharia law in 1999.

The Irigwe Development Association (IDA) in Kaduna State said in a statement that three of its members were murdered, and three others wounded, by Fulani gunmen in an attack in Kigam Village, Kauru County, around 9 p.m. on Monday evening, ICC reports. The gunmen stormed the village and began firing indiscriminately.

“Prince Robert Ashi Dodo, the IDA national president, described the attack as barbaric, inhumane, and condemned it in the strongest terms,” ICC said in its reports.

“He called on the security agencies to quickly apprehend the perpetrators.”

Nigeria ranks 6th on the US Open Doors World Watch List 2023 of the top 50 countries where Christians are persecuted.

Concerning the Fulani violence plaguing the country, the Open Doors international Christians advocacy group notes in a website statement: “Violence and land grabbing are not limited to the north alone. Fulani militants have carried these practices into the southern regions, where communities, villages, and other locations have been invaded.”
