JERUSALEM (Worthy News) – Israel’s military said Monday that it had killed the intelligence leader of Hamas, the Palestinian Islamist militant group blamed for the worst atrocity against Jews since the Holocaust, also known as the Shoah.

He was “targeted and successfully eliminated” in the southern Gaza city of Khan Younis, the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) said.

The IDF also released aerial footage of what it said was the precise airstrike that resulted in this lethal outcome.

Footage obtained by Worthy News showed the bombing at a site where the Head of General Intelligence was targeted. Moments later, the building erupted into a fireball, the video revealed.

The attack came after some 1,400 people in Israel were killed since Hamas launched its attacks against Israel on Saturday, October 7, raising questions about Israel’s intelligence gathering.

On Monday, the head of Israel’s Shin Bet domestic intelligence agency took responsibility for failing to prevent Hamas from carrying out its deadly rampage through Israeli towns.

“Despite a series of actions we carried out, unfortunately, on Saturday, we were unable to generate sufficient warning that would allow the attack to be thwarted,” said Shin Bet director Ronen Bar in published remarks.

“As the one who heads the organization, the responsibility for this is on me. There will be time for investigations. Now we fight.”

That battle became clear Monday, with Israeli forces not only killing the Hamas intelligence chief but also hitting other alleged Hamas targets in the Gaza Strip.

Hamas responded with attacks against Israel with incoming rocket sirens wailing in several areas, including in Israel’s main cities, Jerusalem and Tel Aviv.
