Iran Unveils its ‘Ambassador of Death’

By George Whitten, Worthy News Jerusalem Bureau Chief

JERUSALEM, ISRAEL (Worthy News)– Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad unveiled Iran’s first domestically built unmanned bomber on Sunday, calling it an “ambassador of death” to Iran’s enemies.

The 4-meter long drone aircraft, dubbed as Karrar or striker, can carry as many as four cruise missiles and will have a range of 620 miles, according to an Iranian State TV report.  Alternatively according to the report, it could be armed with two 250-pound (113 Kilogram) or a 450-pound (204 kilogram) guided bomb.

However, its limited range places its archenemy Israel out of reach, however neighboring Iraq would easily be within its range.  Last March, the United States shot down an Iranian drone flying over Iraqi airspace.

IRAN FUELING INSTABILITY

The commander of U.S. forces in Iraq says Iran is fueling instability within Iraq by funding and training Shi’ite extremist groups.

General Ray Odierno told CNN on Sunday that Iran does not want Iraq to become a strong democratic country.  He said Iran would rather see Iraq become a “weak governmental institution.”

Odierno also said that a “complete failure” of Iraqi security forces could oblige the United States to resume combat operations there, however he called this an “unlikely scenario”.

On August 31, U.S. combat operations officially end and the remaining 52,000 American-strong troops role becomes one of providing advice and assistance.
