JERUSALEM (Worthy News) – Israel’s military said Tuesday an anti-tank missile fired from the “terror group Hezbollah” in Lebanon had struck a church in northern Israel and injured a civilian in the latest cross-border attacks that also moderately injured nine Israeli soldiers.

In a statement, Hezbollah claimed to have targeted an Israel Defense Forces (IDF) position near the northern community of Shomera.

But Israeli sources said the target was a church in the nearby depopulated Palestinian Christian village of Iqrit.

A civilian man in his 80s guarding the church was reportedly moderately wounded in the attack,

Another missile was reportedly fired at the area as troops and medical services worked to evacuate the wounded man.

It came as in separate attacks, nine soldiers were wounded by gunfire at Israel’s northern border on Tuesday, with one in serious condition, Israeli media reported. The rest were either moderately or lightly injured.

AIRPLANES

In response, Israeli Air Force planes attacked Hezbollah infrastructure in Lebanon, including a building where a terrorist who launched an anti-tank missile was hiding, officials said.

A rocket launched toward Dovev in the Upper Galilee area was launched from near the mosque located in the village of Yaroun in southern Lebanon, Israeli sources said.

In addition, in the last few hours, several launches were fired at the Yiftah area and Mount Dov.

The IDF said it responded with tank and artillery fire from the sources of the shooting.

The clashes came amid concerns the Hamas-Israel war will escalate into a broader war between Israel and Lebanon-based Hezbollah, which is backed by Iran.
