(Worthy News) – Following the war in Gaza, the Saudi ambassador to the United Kingdom revealed in a BBC interview on Tuesday that Saudi Arabia is interested in pursuing a normalization deal with Israel coupled with the establishment of a Palestinian State.

In a radio interview with the BBC, Prince Khalid bin Bandar, Saudi Arabia’s ambassador to the United Kingdom, stated that Riyadh remains open to the idea of forming a relationship with Israel, provided it is within the framework of a broader two-state solution.

“For us, the final endpoint definitely included nothing less than an independent state of Palestine. So, while we still – going forward, even after 7 October – believe in normalization, it does not come at the cost of the Palestinian people,” Prince Bandar said in the interview. “One doesn’t come without the other.”

Before the events of October 7, when thousands of members from Hamas crossed the border, resulting in the deaths of approximately 1,200 people in Israel and taking around 240 hostages, it was widely reported that Israel and Saudi Arabia were on the verge of signing a momentous agreement for normalization of relations.
