Shooting At KC Chiefs’ Super Bowl Celebration Leaves at Least 22 Shot, 1 Killed

(Worthy News) – Authorities reported that gunfire broke out close to the Kansas City Chiefs’ Super Bowl victory parade in Kansas City on Wednesday, resulting in at least 22 individuals being injured and one fatality.

The Kansas City Missouri Police Department (KCPD) has disclosed that three individuals are presently in custody and under investigation, though a motive has not been disclosed.

“This is absolutely a tragedy, the likes of which we would have never expected in Kansas City and the likes of which we will remember for some time,” said Kansas City Mayor Quinton Lucas.

An estimated 1 million attendees and approximately 600 law enforcement officers were anticipated to be present at the Super Bowl celebration.

At the time of this report, out of the 22 people injured in the gunfire, eight have suffered life-threatening injuries.
