(Worthy News) – Amid concerns that Iran’s virulently antisemitic Islamist regime will use Israel’s focus on fighting Iran-backed Hamas and Hezbollah to advance its nuclear weapons program, the Israel Air Force (IAF) has been conducting extensive drills in potential preparation for striking targets in Iran itself, the Israel Hayom Israeli news outlet reports.

Israel Hayom has seen reports that the IAF has recently conducted several drills involving long-distance flights and operations for military activity in distant locations, including refueling aircraft and transporting planes and additional military units.

“The heightened focus on Iran stems from intelligence assessments suggesting Tehran is making ‘alarming and unprecedented’ progress toward a military nuclear capability,” Israel Hayom said in its report.

“Israeli defense officials have long maintained that once Iran makes the decision, it could potentially enrich enough uranium for several nuclear facilities within a short timeframe, possibly as little as a month,” Israel Hayom noted.

These concerns were echoed by Israeli Defense Minister Yoav Gallant when he met with US Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin in Washington DC earlier this week. “Now is the time to fulfill the commitment made by all recent US administrations: preventing a nuclear Iran – time is running out on this issue,” Gallant said.
