Egyptian Christians Face Danger from Muslim Threats

By Joseph C. DeCaro, Worthy News Correspondent

CAIRO, Egypt (Worthy News)– Mobs of Muslims were angered following a false Al-Jazeera report that Egypt’s Christians were aligning with Israel and stockpiling weapons.

Fears for the safety of these Christians increased after a series of threats and mass demonstrations were directed against them, according to Barnabas Fund, a British-based Christain advocacy organization that also reported rumors that Christians were kidnapping and converting women who had turned to Islam.

A previously unknown group that called itself the “Front of Islamic Egypt” vowed that Christians would experience a “bloodbath,” but human rights activists claim Egyptian authorities may be behind the demonstrations in an attempt to divert the nation’s growing discontent away from its government by scape-goating Eqypt’s Christians.

Estimated at six to ten million, Egypt has the largest Christian population of any Muslim nation in the Arab world.
