(Worthy News) – Fulani jihadist herdsmen murdered two Christian farmers and severely wounded three others during attacks on Christian-owned farms in northern Nigeria last week, International Christian Concern (ICC) reports.

Two farmers were killed and another severely beaten when Fulani raided Christian communities in Plateau state’s Mangu and Bassa counties on Aug. 1, ICC reports. “Fulani wanted to kill me, but I thank God I was safe,” one survivor told an International Christian Concern (ICC) staffer.

Then, on Aug. 3, Fulani terrorists in Kaduna state attacked two Christian farmers as they worked their land in Kishisho, ICC reports. While the farmers survived, they had to be hospitalized.

“Violence by Islamic extremist groups such as Fulani militants, Boko Haram and ISWAP (Islamic State in West African Province) increased during the presidency of Muhammadu Buhari, putting Nigeria at the epicenter of targeted violence against the church,” the Open Doors international Christian advocacy organization explains in a current website report. “The government’s failure to protect Christians and punish perpetrators has only strengthened the militants’ influence.”

Along with the Boko Haram and Islamic State West Africa terror groups, Fulani militants have murdered around 60,000 Christians since jihadism took hold in Nigeria in 2009.
