protests in gaza

(Worthy News) – In a rare and courageous act of defiance, Gazan civilians have taken to the streets to protest against Hamas, the Iranian-backed terrorist organization that controls the Gaza Strip.

Protesters chanted for Hamas to “get out,” voicing anger over years of oppression and hardship. The growing unrest reflects a shift among Palestinians who are no longer willing to stay silent under Hamas’s rule.

Chants echoed through the streets: “Down with Hamas!”; “Hamas out!”; “Stop the war!”; and even “Release the hostages!”

As demonstrators flood the streets, Israeli officials remain silent—waiting to see if the protests gain momentum before commenting or revealing their stance concerning the unrest.

“It is very early to assess whether this is a local event or a phenomenon that will expand,” a senior Israeli official told i24News.

While protests began in northern Gaza, analysts on social media now report the unrest is spreading south. In Khan Yunis, crowds gathered, boldly chanting that Hamas is a terrorist organization.

Protests are expected to continue on Wednesday.
