Arab Liberals and Journalists Celebrate U.S. Strike on Iran: “Trump Saved Humanity,” “God Bless America”

By Worthy News Staff
(Worthy News) – The U.S. strike on Iran’s nuclear facilities on June 22, 2025, was met with widespread praise across the Arab world, particularly among liberal intellectuals and journalists who took to social media to thank President Donald Trump for what they described as a historic act that “saved humanity.”
According to a detailed report by the Middle East Media Research Institute (MEMRI), prominent voices from Saudi Arabia, Egypt, Iraq, the UAE, and Bahrain hailed the attack as a long-overdue blow to the “terror-exporting” Iranian regime. Many praised the destruction of nuclear sites in Fordo, Natanz, and Isfahan, and called the U.S. operation a necessary action to ensure regional and global stability.
Saudi and Gulf Commentators: Iran’s Nuclear Dream is Over
Saudi journalist Abd Al-Aziz Al-Khames declared, “The Iranian nuclear project has come to an end.” He lamented the billions wasted by Iran at the expense of its people and urged the regime to redirect its focus toward economic development.
Wafa Al-Rashid, another Saudi journalist, argued that the fall of some regimes can be a “salvation” for humanity, describing the Iranian regime as a global burden. While she later reposted Saudi Arabia’s official condemnation of the strike, her initial reaction reflected broader Arab frustration with Tehran’s influence.
In the UAE, political analyst Salem Al-Ketbi criticized the Iranian regime for miscalculating its strength. “History will not spare those who refuse to develop but persist in a policy of collective suicide,” he wrote.
Egyptian and Iraqi Liberals Praise Trump and Mock Khamenei
In Egypt, U.S.-based liberal Amr Bakly shared an image mocking Iran’s Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei as a clown, captioned with “Death to Khamenei.” Fellow Egyptian liberal Dalia Ziada called Trump’s strike a second historic moment for the region, the first being the Abraham Accords. “God bless America,” she wrote, adding that the move could spark the long-needed “geopolitical reset” since 1979.
Iraqi journalist Sufian Al-Samarrai was even more explicit, asserting that the U.S. and Israel should welcome any Iranian retaliation as a justification to completely dismantle Iranian proxy networks. He praised the operation as a joint act of divine intervention and U.S. resolve, stating: “[Trump] did it along with the Lord of the World and saved humanity.”
Emirati and Bahraini Voices Call Strike a Turning Point
Emirati liberal Amjad Taha, writing in English, praised Trump’s strategic clarity: “This wasn’t just war. This was diplomacy with a spine.” He mocked Tehran’s leadership and lauded the elimination of nuclear threats as a moment of regional relief: “God bless America. God save lives.”
Bahraini liberal Ahdeya Ahmed Al-Sayed described the strike as a “historic turning point,” claiming it neutralized the terror threat posed by Iran’s clerical regime. She credited America for ending decades of fear tied to the regime’s pursuit of nuclear weapons.
Context and Reaction
The wave of Arab liberal support for the U.S. strike stands in contrast to official condemnations issued by several Arab governments, including Saudi Arabia, which labeled the action a “violation of Iran’s sovereignty.” Yet, as MEMRI highlights, public intellectuals in the Arab world appear increasingly willing to confront Iran’s destabilizing role in the region — sometimes more directly than their own governments.
As tensions remain high in the aftermath of the operation, the regional political landscape may now hinge on whether Iran chooses retaliation–or surrender.
