(Worthy News) – President Donald Trump announced Tuesday night that Israel has agreed to the key conditions necessary to implement a 60-day ceasefire in Gaza, setting the stage for renewed efforts to end the ongoing Israel-Hamas conflict.

In a statement posted to his Truth Social platform, Trump said, “Israel has agreed to the necessary conditions to finalize the 60 Day CEASEFIRE, during which time we will work with all parties to end the War.” He confirmed that his representatives held “a long and productive meeting with the Israelis today on Gaza.”

The framework for the proposed truce was reportedly presented to both Israel and Hamas by Qatar, which submitted a mediation plan based on the Witkoff framework — with slight modifications. Trump praised the mediation efforts, noting that “the Qataris and Egyptians, who have worked very hard to help bring Peace, will deliver this final proposal.”

“I hope, for the good of the Middle East, that Hamas takes this Deal, because it will not get better — IT WILL ONLY GET WORSE,” Trump warned, urging the Palestinian militant group to accept the terms now on the table.

Earlier on Tuesday, Trump told reporters that he expected a ceasefire to be in place by next week, when Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is scheduled to visit Washington for high-level meetings. Strategic Affairs Minister Ron Dermer, a key Netanyahu confidant, was in Washington earlier in the week for talks with U.S. officials.

This latest breakthrough follows Trump’s successful brokering of a separate ceasefire last week between Israel and Iran, which halted 12 days of missile attacks and retaliatory airstrikes. The surprise diplomatic achievement marked a rare moment of calm following a period of escalating regional conflict.

The proposed 60-day Gaza ceasefire appears to be a continuation of long-stalled negotiations that have been hindered by disagreements over post-truce conditions. Israel has insisted on retaining the right to resume military operations, while Hamas has demanded that any pause in fighting lead to a permanent cessation.

Trump’s latest remarks reflect a balancing act, aiming to satisfy Israeli security concerns while signaling a commitment to ending the war. Arab mediators, including officials from Egypt and Qatar, are reportedly working to reconvene Israeli and Hamas delegations for proximity talks in Cairo to resolve final sticking points.
