Trump Warns Iran ‘Time Is Running Out’ as U.S. Armada Deploys
by Emmitt Barry, Worthy News Washington D.C. Bureau Chief
(Worthy News) – President Donald Trump issued a stark warning to Iran on Wednesday, declaring that “time is running out” for Tehran to negotiate over its nuclear program as a major U.S. naval armada moves into the Middle East. At the same time, key American allies Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates announced they would not support or facilitate any U.S. military strikes against Iran from their territory or airspace.
In a series of posts on Truth Social, Trump said the fleet now entering the region is larger than the one previously dispatched to pressure Venezuela and is led by the aircraft carrier USS Abraham Lincoln. He warned that the force is “ready, willing, and able to rapidly fulfill its mission, with speed and violence, if necessary,” while urging Iran to “Come to the Table” and accept a deal that ensures “NO NUCLEAR WEAPONS.”
Trump cautioned that any future U.S. military action would be far more severe than Operation Midnight Hammer, the June operation in which American forces struck major Iranian nuclear facilities, including the Fordow site, using bunker-buster munitions and Tomahawk cruise missiles. “The next attack will be far worse,” the president warned, adding that Tehran should not “make that happen again.”
The administration’s demands reportedly include the removal of highly enriched uranium from Iran, unrestricted surprise inspections of nuclear facilities, limits on Iran’s long-range ballistic missile program, and an end to Tehran’s support for proxy groups such as Hezbollah and the Houthis. Trump has not publicly outlined additional details of a potential agreement beyond those conditions.
Tensions have been further inflamed by unrest inside Iran, where widespread protests over economic hardship and political repression have rocked the country. Trump previously threatened military action in support of demonstrators but said he held back after Tehran reportedly halted mass executions. Human-rights activists, however, estimate that more than 6,000 protesters have been killed, with some figures ranging much higher amid an ongoing internet blackout.
Complicating Washington’s military posture, Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman told Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian that Saudi Arabia would not permit its airspace or territory to be used for any attack on Iran, according to reports. Riyadh urged both sides to resolve their dispute through diplomacy and emphasized respect for Iran’s sovereignty.
The United Arab Emirates issued a similar statement earlier in the week, with its Foreign Ministry saying the UAE would not allow its territory to serve as a staging ground for “hostile military actions” against Iran or provide logistical support. The decisions mark a notable shift for the two Gulf states, both longtime U.S. security partners that host American military facilities.
Regional leaders have warned that a U.S. strike could ignite a wider conflict. Iran has signaled that any attack would trigger a comprehensive response, likely including strikes on U.S. bases in Gulf countries. Earlier this month, U.S. partners including Egypt, Turkey, and Israel privately urged Washington to reconsider military action, warning that hostilities could spread well beyond Iran’s borders.
Iran’s mission to the United Nations responded defiantly on social media, noting that past U.S. wars in the region cost trillions of dollars and thousands of American lives. While saying Tehran remains open to dialogue based on “mutual respect and interests,” the statement warned Iran would defend itself “like never before” if attacked.
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu also weighed in, cautioning that any Iranian strike on Israel would be met with overwhelming force. Meanwhile, Iranian military leaders escalated their own rhetoric, with Revolutionary Guard commanders saying their forces stand “finger on the trigger” awaiting orders.
The rising tensions have already disrupted civilian travel. Several major airlines have reduced or canceled flights to the region, citing security concerns. Dutch carrier KLM said it would not resume flights to Tel Aviv for now, while Israeli airlines El Al, Arkia, and Israir eased cancellation and rebooking rules amid fears of renewed conflict.
As diplomatic channels narrow and military assets converge, Trump reiterated his message to Tehran: negotiate quickly or face consequences. “MAKE A DEAL!” he wrote. “Time is running out.”
Prophetic Perspective: Jeremiah 49 and the Burden of Elam
From a prophetic vantage point, the escalating pressure on Iran draws renewed attention to Jeremiah 49:34–39, the oracle concerning Elam—a biblical region historically corresponding to much of modern-day Iran. In this passage, the Lord declares that He will “break the bow of Elam, the chief of their might,” scattering its people to the four winds and bringing dismay upon its leaders. The imagery speaks not merely of military defeat, but of the dismantling of national confidence, strategic power, and ruling authority.
As Iran faces internal unrest, international isolation, and mounting external pressure, many observers of Scripture see a striking convergence with Jeremiah’s words: a nation once projecting strength now contending with fear from every side. Yet the prophecy does not end in destruction alone. Jeremiah records a future promise—“But it shall come to pass in the latter days: I will bring back the captives of Elam” (Jer. 49:39) — pointing to restoration after judgment. In this light, current events may be understood as part of a divine shaking that precedes mercy: the humbling of power structures, the exposure of tyranny, and ultimately the opening of a door for redemption, awakening, and the purposes of God to unfold in the region once known as Elam.
