(Worthy News) – Israel says it is prepared for sustained combat after Iran and the Houthis fired missiles toward Israeli territory, prompting new Israeli strikes on Iranian defense systems and ballistic missile-related facilities.

The Israel Defense Forces warned Monday that the latest conflict with Iran is expected to last at least several days and could still escalate into full-blown war, after Tehran launched multiple ballistic missile barrages at Israel and the Israeli Air Force struck military targets deep inside Iran.

As of late Monday morning, Iran had fired three salvos totaling more than 20 ballistic missiles toward Israel, while the Iran-backed Houthis in Yemen launched two additional missiles. One Houthi missile reportedly fell short of Israeli territory, while the other was intercepted by Israeli air defenses.

The IDF said Israeli fighter jets, guided by Military Intelligence, carried out a large-scale strike on strategic defense systems in western and central Iran. According to the military, the systems had been deployed by the Iranian regime in an effort to restore detection and air-defense capabilities damaged during Israel’s earlier “Operation Roaring Lion.”

“The strike led to the dismantling of these systems,” the IDF said, adding that the operation further improved the Israeli Air Force’s freedom of action in Iranian airspace.

Israel Targets Iranian Missile Supply Chain

The IDF also said it struck infrastructure sites at the petrochemical complex in Mahshahr, in southwestern Iran, describing the facilities as part of the regime’s weapons-production supply chain.

“These facilities were used by the armed forces of the Iranian terror regime to produce and export raw materials for weapons production,” the IDF said.

According to the military, the targeted infrastructure produced specialized materials used in the development of ballistic missiles — weapons Israel says directly threaten its civilians.

The strikes came after a night of air-raid sirens across northern Israel, Samaria, Jerusalem, Tel Aviv, central Israel, and other areas as Iranian missiles targeted the country from north to south. The IDF said most of the projectiles were intercepted, and no casualties were reported from the missile barrages.

Israel’s Health Ministry said that since the beginning of the special home-front emergency, 44 people had been evacuated to hospitals. As of Monday morning, one person remained hospitalized in satisfactory condition.

In Samaria, a missile impact damaged three homes, though emergency responders reported no injuries.

Security Cabinet Meets As IDF Moves To Full Readiness

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s Security Cabinet convened Monday morning to discuss the expanding confrontation.

IDF Chief of Staff Lt. Gen. Eyal Zamir and senior commanders conducted operational assessments throughout the morning and directed strikes from the Israeli Air Force command bunker, the military said.

“The IDF is alert and prepared to continue operating in all arenas against those who threaten the State of Israel,” the military said. “The IDF is at full readiness in both offense and defense.”

The Home Front Command issued direct mobile-phone alerts ahead of sirens in threatened areas and instructed residents to enter protected spaces immediately upon receiving warnings.

“The public is requested to act responsibly and follow the instructions — they save lives,” the IDF said.

Schools were closed nationwide Monday, while public transportation was expected to operate at about 75% capacity. Ben-Gurion International Airport remained open, with Israel Airports Authority arrival and departure boards active.

U.S. Ambassador: ‘Thank God’ Missiles Were Intercepted

Israeli Ambassador to the United States Yechiel Leiter said Iran launched 11 ballistic missiles at Israel on Sunday, warning that each missile had the capacity to devastate civilian areas.

“Each of these missiles can destroy an entire neighborhood and kill hundreds,” Leiter wrote on X. “No self-respecting country in the world would tolerate such an attack, and neither will Israel.”

Leiter said Israel was targeting Iranian surface-to-surface missile launch sites and other military infrastructure, while also warning Hezbollah not to join the fighting from Lebanon.

“If Hezbollah fires at Israel, its command centers in Dahiyeh will be hit hard,” he said.

U.S. Ambassador to Israel Mike Huckabee said American personnel were rushed to bomb shelters as Iranian missiles were launched toward Israel.

“Iran fired missiles at Israel last night & early today. The missile alerts sounded at 6am in Jerusalem. They were intercepted thank God!” Huckabee wrote on X.

He later added that he heard “loud booms overhead,” saying he hoped they were interceptions.

Iran’s Command Lines Reportedly Disrupted

The latest escalation marked the first direct Iranian missile attack on Israel since a ceasefire took effect on April 8. Israeli officials have said the truce was effectively violated by ongoing Hezbollah rocket and drone attacks from Lebanon, which Jerusalem says were carried out under Tehran’s direction.

The missile fire followed Israel’s strike on Hezbollah targets in Dahiyeh, southern Beirut, which prompted Iranian threats and now appears to have opened a broader regional front.

Iran International, a London-based anti-regime outlet, reported that communication lines between Iranian Supreme Leader Ayatollah Mojtaba Khamenei and other Iranian officials had been disrupted since Sunday night.

A source cited by the outlet said the missile launches may have been carried out under “pre-established military protocols” without direct coordination with Khamenei’s office. The source also said the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps response to Israel’s strike in Dahiyeh appeared too rapid to have followed a normal chain of command.

Trump Says Peace Talks Are Underway

The flare-up came amid reports of U.S. efforts to prevent further escalation, including a phone call from President Donald Trump urging Netanyahu not to respond to new Iranian missile attacks.

However, an Israeli official said Israel’s strikes on Iran had been coordinated with the United States.

“We’re at the beginning of several days of fighting against Iran and its proxies across the Middle East,” the official told Israel’s Channel 14 News.

Trump later said in a Truth Social post that both Israel and Iran were working toward an immediate ceasefire.

“Final negotiations on ‘Peace’ are proceeding, subject to ignorance or stupidity getting in its way,” Trump wrote, adding that the U.S. blockade on the Strait of Hormuz would “remain in place, and in full force and effect, until a ‘Final Deal’ is reached.”

“Things should move quickly,” he added.

For Israel, however, Monday’s message was unmistakable: the Jewish state is bracing for more than a one-night exchange. With Iranian missiles again flying toward Israeli cities and Israeli jets striking deep into Iran, the region appears to be entering one of its most dangerous moments since the war widened across the Middle East.
