Christian Brick Kiln Worker Killed in Pakistan; Family Demands Justice

PATTOKI, PAKISTAN (Worthy News) – A Christian brick kiln worker and father of four has been stabbed to death in Pakistan’s city of Pattoki amid concerns over the vulnerability of Christians in the Islamic nation, sources told Worthy News Tuesday.

The victim, identified as Siddique Masih, was targeted following “a minor altercation” during which he “sustained a fatal knife wound to the throat,” said Christian advocate Sardar Mushtaq Gill.

“He succumbed to his injuries,” Gill told Worthy News.

Police named the main attacker as Ahmed Ali and said he and two other suspects had been detained.

“Officials confirmed that further investigations are underway and that legal proceedings will continue in accordance with the law,” said Christian advocacy group LEAD Ministries.

FAMILY DEMANDS JUSTICE

In comments shared with Worthy News, the victim’s family expressed “profound grief over the loss” of their loved one and father of four children.

They called upon law enforcement authorities and the judiciary “to ensure a transparent investigation and hold those responsible accountable.”

Family members said they demanded a “strict punishment for the accused.”

The killing was strongly condemned by Pastor Imran Amanat, leader of LEAD Ministries, who described Siddique Masih as “an innocent Christian laborer.”

He urged authorities “to conduct a fair investigation,” expressed solidarity with the bereaved family, and called “for justice to be served.”

CONCERNS FOR CHRISTIANS

Sardar Mushtaq Gill, founder of LEAD Ministries, also condemned the killing and expressed concern over the vulnerability of Christians belonging to poor and marginalized communities.

He said many Christians lack the social and economic resources needed to defend themselves or seek protection, making them especially vulnerable to violence and abuse.

Gill urged Christians around the world to pray for Siddique Masih’s grieving family and called for greater efforts to protect religious minorities.

LEAD Ministries said its mission is to document, report, and raise awareness about violence, discrimination, and persecution affecting Christians in Pakistan.

The organization stressed that it focuses on advocacy and human rights reporting rather than providing financial assistance in individual cases.

PAKISTAN UNDER SCRUTINY

The killing has drawn renewed attention to the plight of Christians employed in Pakistan’s brick kiln industry, where many workers come from impoverished backgrounds and often face economic hardship and social exclusion.

Community leaders say the case highlights the need for equal access to justice and stronger protections for vulnerable minority communities.

Pakistan is ranked eighth on the 2026 Open Doors World Watch List of countries where it says Christians face the most severe persecution and discrimination for their faith.

Advocacy group Open Doors says Christians in Pakistan frequently face pressure linked to blasphemy accusations, social discrimination, violence, and economic marginalization.

Many Pakistani Christians work in low-paid occupations, including brick kilns, where rights advocates say workers often remain among the country’s most disadvantaged communities.

As investigations continue, Christian leaders and community members are closely monitoring the case and expressing hope that the legal process will ensure accountability for those responsible and bring justice to Siddique Masih’s family.
