Pakistan: Kidnapping, Conversion of Christian Girl Condemned

By Joseph DeCaro, Worthy News Correspondent

ISLAMABAD, PAKISTAN (Worthy News)– On a Monday afternoon in October, Timar Shahzadi was returning from school with her friends when she was kidnapped by Muslims, but when her Christian family reported it to the Koral police station in Islamabad, they did nothing, according to the Pakistan Christian Post.

Therefore, MPA Saleem Khokhar strongly condemned the kidnapping of the 14-year-old and demanded that the government help Amjad Masih find her daughter

According to Khokhar, the practice of forced conversions and forced marriages is widespread in Pakistan where rich and powerful Muslim men often take advantage of impoverished religious minorities.

He said the parents of religious minorities are so afraid of having their daughters’ kidnapped on the way to school that they have abruptly ended their educations.

Khokhar has again asked Pakistan’s federal ministers to pass the Bill on Forced Conversions and Forced Marriages as soon as possible.
