“Keetons Launch Unity Tour Titled: “One Nation Under God.”

Rush, KY— Pastors and members of eight denominations joined in fellowship to bless, and be blessed by the concert given at Star Elementary School in Rush Kentucky.

The Keetons warmed up with some of their more familiar music before climaxing the event with their newest project, a video version of “Mercy on America Again”. filmed in Washington, DC. shortly after the September 11 attack.

The video is intended to inspire prayer for the nation and encourage Christian unity. It is also the basis for a unity tour scheduled throughout the Tri-State.

Dan Keeton, tenor, wrote “Mercy on America Again” in 1998 without realizing how applicable it would be to the 9-11 crisis and our need for national repentance: “Though our founding fathers worked so hard to make this land our home, tears would fill their eyes to see what we’ve become”.

Dan also quoted prominent historical figures to emphasize the reality that America was founded as a Christian Nation and anyone who doubted this need only read the historical record including the following record of a previous attempt in American history to remove any reference to Christianity from public view:

“Had the people, during the Revolution, had any suspicion of any attempt to war against Christianity, the Revolution would have been strangled in the cradle. At the time of the adoption of the Constitution and the Amendments, the universal sentiment was that Christianity should be encouraged, not any one sect. In this age there can be no substitute for Christianity. That was the religion of the founders of the republic, and they expected it to remain the religion of their descendants. The great vital and conservative element in our system is the doctrines and divine truths of the gospel of Jesus Christ.”

—House Judiciary Committee Report March 3, 1854

Following the concert, the pastors led the audience in prayer for America and her churches on topics including exaltation of Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior; thanksgiving for our salvation, freedom, and prosperity; the awakening of the ‘sleeping giant of America’s Christians’ in revival; forgiveness for or national sins of abortion, fornication, and apathy; and guidance and protection for our military and national leadership.
