New Pro-Life Strategy: Sue Abortionists for Not Telling the Full Story

(AgapePress) – Pro-life advocates announced a new strategy yesterday against abortion clinics. They say the new campaign will hit abortionists where it hurts: in the pocketbook.

The American Life League announced the start of a series of lawsuits filed by women who have had abortions. Spokesperson Scott Weinburg says the right to choose includes the right to know all the facts.

“The consequences for the mother are numerous, varied, and verifiable,” Weinburg says, “yet the abortion industry continues to deny women full scientific information.”

“We’re talking an alarming increase in death rates, suicide, depression, alcoholism, repeat abortions, promiscuity, and breast cancer,” he says. “The real undue burden in the abortion industry isn’t asking a women to carry her baby to term–it’s the result of not giving her accurate information about the consequences of abortion.”

As an example, Weinburg says pro-abortion forces deny the facts but at least 27 medical studies show a link between breast cancer and abortion.

Weidburg says women have been led to believe abortion is a safety net, when it is a safety hazard. He also says women can sue abortion providers for not telling them this.

“There’s precedence out there in New York, Pennsylvania, and North Dakota, and we’re winning,” he says. “Women [are stepping] forward seeking justice–which is ultimately an aspect of healing, too.”

“If you think you’ve seen major litigation launched against big tobacco [companies], just wait until the dam breaks against the abortion industry.”
