FBI: 6 men arrested near Mexico border in Sonoita, Ariz.


(Worthy News) – Six men — one from Afghanistan; five from Pakistan — were arrested near the Mexico border in an area by Sonoita, Ariz., according to local FBI officials.

Those officials said the men were picked up by the Joint Terrorism Task Force and questioned on Tuesday but then later released to ICE.

U.S. Customs and Border Patrol released a statement regarding an incident:

“U.S. Border Patrol agents in Sonoita, Arizona, apprehended five Pakistani nationals and one Afghan national Monday. Agents also arrested two smugglers accompanying the group. As a standard procedure, agents processed the six individuals and checked their identities against numerous law enforcement and national security related databases. Records checks revealed no derogatory information about the individuals. The individuals are currently in federal custody.” [ Source ]
