India: Hindu’s torture Christian convert

By Joseph DeCaro, Worthy News Correspondent

(Worthy News) – Police declined to take any action against the Hindus who tortured a Christian in India’s Uttar Pradesh state last month and then left him for dead.

According to Morning Star News, Hindus demanded that Joginder Gold — a 30-year-old convert from Hinduism — stop worshipping Christ. So they took him to a farmhouse in Tewardih, Varanasi where they beat him.

“They tied me upside down on a tree and started verbally abusing me for my faith in Christ and started to beat me on the soles of my feet,” Gold told Morning Star News.

When his assailants were through with him, they hid Gold in a shallow pit. But after a witness to the assault called the police, Gold was transported to a government hospital.

However, when Christian leaders submitted a police complaint against his Hindu assailants, officers instead questioned Gold as to who had converted him to Christianity.

Gold told police that after Jesus had healed his sister eight years ago, both he and his family chose to follow Christ.
