Field Updates Available to Web Users Through ‘Macedonian Call’

CHARLOTTESVILLE, VA-Cutting edge technology combined with up-to-the-minute reports from indigenous missionaries around the globe is enabling Christians to experience their own “Macedonian Call” via their computer desktops.

Christian Aid Mission, a ministry dedicated to promoting native missions, has released its Macedonian Call Interactive. Just as the apostle Paul had a vision of a Macedonian man calling him to “come over into Macedonia, and help us,” (Acts 16:9), believers connected to the World Wide Web are being beckoned in a similar manner.

“The Macedonian Call Interactive is like the invitation Paul received in his vision,” says Rick Brown, president of Christian Aid. “It’s an opportunity for us to join with God in the work He is doing through indigenous missions around the world. The Call becomes a personal ‘call’ to each of us.”

By downloading a free program (), Christians are notified of new reports from the field by a flashing icon, or “call,” on the bottom of their screen. Reports can be tailored according to personal preference. Those with a burden for China, for example, may choose to receive only updates from that country. Others may decide to receive all reports.

Macedonian Call also includes a screen saver filled with photographs showcasing the work of indigenous missionaries around the world. The program automatically notifies users when new photos are available for download.

“These photos put a face with the name, so to speak,” Brown says. “Instead of only reading about missionaries, we can see them as they bring the good news of Jesus Christ to the lost in their native lands.”
