Assad regime places tanks, artillery in buffer zone with Israel

(Worthy News) - The Bashar Assad regime is preparing an offensive to retake southern Syria and the Syrian Golan Heights from rebel groups and has reportedly placed tanks and heavy artillery inside the demilitarized buffer zone on the country’s border with Israel.

The step violates the Agreement on Disengagement signed in 1974 between Israel and Syria, which concluded the Yom Kippur War. Israel is expected to complain to the United Nations peacemaking force known as UNDOF, the Haaretz daily reported Thursday.

The United Nations Disengagement Observer Force has patrolled the buffer zone between Syria and Israel since 1974, a year after the war ended. For nearly four decades, UNDOF helped enforce a stable truce between the two countries, but the Syrian civil war has now spilled into the area, according to the report. 1. Does Syria do sorties into Israel territory? I'm not talking Hezbollah. I'm talking Assad. Then why does Israel do sorties into Syria. Russian PM has already stated that he will not allow Iran to build missile bases in Syria or chemical weapons. As far as I know, Putin is keeping his word.
Maybe Israel would like to keep the conflict elevated and keep the region a focus of the United States.
Too late though, Israel. Trump is smarter than even YOU give him credit for. He's already announce his determination to withdraw from Syria. He knows as well as you that Russia can handle the job ...... and it's much closer than the U.S.
Maybe you should build on your Lobby in Russia since you're not going to be able to order the U.S. around anymore.

    • Putin is not to be trusted.

      Not ever.

He is a snake. Okay, so are many of the other players in the Middle East. but none of them, except Erdogan, are as sly and crafty as Putin. Putin is at the top of both his and the world's political game right now. Obama greatly misunderstood the damages he would create for the USA when he publicly insulted Putin with the way he mocked him during the Russian Olympics. And we're living the consequences now.

Russia does fly bys in American and Canadian (Californian) airspace just to see what and how our Air military will respond. They are preparing for war. Even Gorby said so before the last US Presidential election. And he would know.

The one US American (beside Russian refugees now resettle in the USA) who is paying attention is Trump. Not sure if even he is up to Putin's level and not sure if we even want Trump to know how to do that much evil (strategic) thinking. Putin is in for the long haul and he's already ahead of us, at it.

Do not trust Putin to do or keep his word on anything. US American's greatly underestimate the solidarity of the Russian people. And the Russian people earned that solidarity, or I should say, their grandfathers and grandmothers, did.
