Norte Dame Cathedral in flames.

(Worthy News) - A colossal fire swept through the famed Notre Dame Cathedral in central Paris on Monday, causing a spire to collapse and raising fears over the future of the nearly millennium-old building and its precious artworks.

The fire, which began in the early evening, sent flames and huge clouds of grey smoke billowing into the sky as stunned Parisians and tourists watched in horror.

The Paris fire service was not sure it will be able to halt the spread of the fire consuming the roof of Notre-Dame cathedral, a senior fire official at the scene told journalists on Monday night. [ Source: Times of Israel (Read More...) ]

  1. Notre Dame means "Our Lady" in French.

It's a Cathedral. That means it's a Church. Named Our Lady. What's wrong with that? Can anyone else explain this?

Anyone know how many men lost their lives in the building(s) of the Notre Dame? If we put in a search for, say, how many men lost their lives in the building of the Hoover Dam, it would come up. Wikipedia could answer that, because though someone thought their lives less important than the Hoover Dam, they'd have enough decency to also have valued the lives lost too. So, we'd know.

Not so with the Notre Dame.

Just because it was a marvel of architecture doesn't mean it was then, and still is, a colossal feat of paganism both historically and today.

It's also one more piece of evidence that our God is going to just let the old "wine-bag" of The Church be destroyed. Like I've said many times here before, flee her. Worship at home, find a place with others who worship our Lord (Master) "in truth and in (the Holy) spirit."

  2. Not sure you should be calling the mother of Jesus an "old wine bag". I am not Catholic. I am a Christian. But calling his mother this name is disrespectful to a woman who God chose to be the earthly mother of Jesus.
