Coronavirus contagion ‘getting stronger’ in China

(Worthy News) – The coranavirus has killed 80 people so far in China, where Wuhan, the city at the center of the outbreak, and 16 surrounding cities have been put under quarantine conditions to prevent its spread.
Travel was restricted Monday in Wuhan, with no flights, trains, or buses coming in or out of the city and 6,000 taxis on call to help its 11 million quarantined residents get around.
“It seems like the ability of the virus to spread is getting stronger,” Ma Xiaowei, China’s health minister, said, pointing to a “crucial stage” the government was now observing in the virus’ development.
Quarantine conditions have affected 50 million people in China as a result of 2,744 confirmed cases of the virus, which seems to have originated with a wild animal that was sold at a market in Wuhan for consumption.
Thailand, Hong Kong, Macau, Japan, Taiwan, the US, South Korea, Singapore, Canada, Malaysia, Nepal, France, and Australia had also detected cases on Monday.
In the US, Arizona, Southern California, Chicago, and Washington state have seen cases.
