(Worthy News) – More deaths of Christians at the hands of Muslim Fulani herdsmen in Nigeria occurred in December and January, totaling 16 murders by the armed pastoralists that included one woman and her baby daughter.

Herdsmen stormed into Torok village on Jan. 2 and shot Reuben Bulus, Gako village on Jan. and shot Ngam Stephen Dachung, and Kulben village on Jan. 8, killing 13 members of the Church of Christ in Nations, a Nigerian denomination.

The woman, Mary Machief, and her baby daughter were killed in her father’s home in Kunnet village, Plataeu state, on Dec. 16, relatives saying that she did not die immediately but over time from her wounds.

“It’s still a shock to me, I wish it were a dream,” one of Machief’s relatives said. “We all prayed for God to give her quick healing, but God deemed it fit to take her to eternal home.”

Boko Haram and Muslim Fulani herdsmen together have killed 6,000 Christians in Nigeria since 2015, according to the Humanitarian Aid Relief Trust.
