Israel requires foreign citizens flying into the country to quarantine themselves for fourteen days

(Worthy News) – Israel has imposed quarantine conditions on all incoming flights in a move that the Finance Ministry predicts will cost the country $1.4 billion.
The decision by the Israeli government comes simultaneous to a warning Monday from World Health Organization chief Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus that “the threat of a pandemic has become very real” with the virus.
“This is a difficult decision, but it is necessary to maintain public health, and public health is above all else,” Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu told the country, elaborating that the quarantine requirements would be in effect for two weeks.
Johns Hopkins University tallied 39 cases of the virus in Israel Monday as Cyprus and Germany reported their first cases, meaning all 27 member states of the European Union have now been touched.
