(Worthy News) – In the wake of a Christian genocide warning for Nigeria issued by Christian Solidarity International (CSI) on January 30, a 27-year-old widow from Plateau state has prayed her husband’s murderers will find Jesus.

Rose, whose husband Pastor Matthew Tagwi was killed by Fulani militants last week, told Barnabas Fund: “My prayer is that his killers will get to know this Jesus I know. I do forgive them and will pray that the Lord saves their souls.”

Pastor Tagwi was killed together with three other people, Genocide Watch reports. The killings were among ongoing attacks in which over 20 Nigerian civilians have been shot or hacked to death by Fulani militia near Jos, the capital of Plateau State.

Tagwi leaves Rose with their daughters, aged six and two, and with a third child on the way. Rose was apart from her husband at the time of his death as she had gone to Kwall overnight for an antenatal check-up.

Talking about the impact of her husband’s death, Rose told Barnabas Fund: “This is a call by God we both answered and I will continue this work and no attacks by Islamist herdsmen will stop us or stop me, even after his death.”
