(Worthy News) –
President Donald Trump has said he would be willing to sign a national reciprocity act that allowed gun owners who are certified to carry in one state to legally cross state lines with their weapon, NRA America’s 1st Freedom (NRA A1F) reported exclusively Tuesday. The President made his remarks in a recent Oval Office interview with NRA A1F Editor in Chief Frank Miniter.

Miniter recounts that prior to his interview with the President, White House Press Secretary Kayleigh McEnany explained why Mr. Trump had agreed to the talk: “He likes to speak directly to audiences. He does all he can to get his message out without the spin,” she said.

As the interview got underway, Miniter recalls he asked the President: “Mr. President, each state’s driver’s license is honored across this great nation, yet a permit to carry a concealed gun—which, in contrast, is a right specifically protected in the U.S. Bill of Rights—is often not respected by other states. Will you support a national reciprocity act so that law-abiding gun owners can more easily travel with their freedom?”

According to Miniter, the President responded: “I will support such legislation. If it comes across my desk, I will sign it.”

“We need the Second Amendment,” the President added. “This important American freedom won’t end on my watch. I am totally for the Second Amendment. We’re with the Second Amendment all the way.”
