(Worthy News) – Facing 12 years in jail for fraud, a top political donor to both US parties has filed two complaints against the CIA alleging that he saw “flagrant problems, abuses, violations of law” while working as an asset for US intelligence, Just the News has said in a report. The House and Senate intelligence committees have been informed of the allegations.

A venture capitalist, political donor, and campaign fundraiser, Imaad Zuberi filed the complaints after asking highly respected CIA retired acting general counsel Robert J. Eatinger Jr. to review his criminal case, Just the News reports. In 2019, Zuberi had agreed to plead guilty to charges of falsifying records of his work as a foreign agent, tax evasion, and donating nearly $1 million in illegal campaign contributions. On February 18, a federal court sentenced Zuberi to 12 years imprisonment for falsifying records; he was also fined $1.75 million and ordered to pay the government $15.7 million in restitution.

Having reviewed the documents in the case, “including secret communications between Zuberi and his alleged CIA handlers that were enumerated in a secret Classified Information Protection Act filing in his criminal case,” Eatinger filed two complaints to the CIA inspector general earlier this month, Just the News said in its report.

Writing to Congress of Zuberi’s allegations, Eatinger said he had “submitted two reports to the Acting Inspector General of the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) that contained complaints or information regarding serious or flagrant problems, abuses, violations of law or executive order, or deficiencies relating to the funding administration or operations of an intelligence activity,” Just the News reports.

According to Just the News, Director of National Intelligence Avril Haynes and CIA Director William Burns were also informed of the allegations.
