(Worthy News) – An outdoor revival in Louisville was interrupted by a noisy ‘Black Lives Matter (BLM) protest, including at least one gunman, organizers said.

Pastor George Whitten, founder and editor of Worthy News, said dozens of shouting BLM activists appeared Sunday, the final day of the three-day ‘Harvest Call’ revival.

The BLM demonstration began at the local Jackson County Jail after the death of a Louisville mother while she was incarcerated. Demonstrators called it another example of abuse and demanded answers.

“Leading the pack was a guy carrying an [semi-automatic] AR rifle, ” Whitten told Worthy News.

The demonstrators marched through Big 4 Park, directly in front of the open stage during the event, roaring “you can’t stop the revolution!” among other chants.

“These types of demonstrations are dividing the country, not unifying it. I mean, here we are at an event focused on unity and love, and these loud, intimidating protestors deliberately march in front of the stage and around the whole area for hours. It was disruptive, disrespectful, and seemed staged,” Whitten said.

BLM protesters defended their actions. Chris Wells, one of the activists, claimed his group “didn’t know a faith event” was happening at the Waterfront, though there were large signs.

Whitten and his native Israeli, worship leading wife live in Southern Israel. They are currently traveling through conflict-ridden areas across the US sharing a message of healing and revival during this season of social and political turmoil.

Despite the tensions, Pastor Whitten said he and his wife are planning more prayer events and church visits while traveling in their mobile home across the nation. They hope their efforts will contribute to a spiritual awakening in the United States.
