(Worthy News) – Boko Haram Islamic terrorists murdered two Christians and set many homes on fire during an October 5 attack on a Christian community in Chibok in Nigeria’s Borno state, International Christian Concern (ICC) reports. Over 3,400 Christians in Nigeria have been murdered by Islamic militants this year.

Boko Haram has murdered tens of thousands of Christians and displaced millions in its campaign to impose Islamic law on Nigeria. “While the Nigerian military repeatedly insists that the group has been defeated, attacks are ongoing,” ICC noted in its report.

Christian communities in Chibok have been continually attacked and persecuted since Boko Haram abducted 300 schoolgirls in 2014. Describing the attack on October 5, a source told ICC: “The villagers were killed before the Nigerian Army’s 28 task force brigade attempted to repel the attack. Two Christians were killed, and many houses were set ablaze. Bulls used for farming were also killed.”

“Two committed and dedicated Church members were killed,” added a local pastor. “Many shops were looted after they set them on fire. The Church of Christ in All Nations (COCIN) was also burned down,” the source said.

Calling for prayer, ICC requested: “Please pray for the end of the Boko Haram insurgency and for the Lord to soften the hearts of militants, who all too often are children forced to partake in heinous acts of violence. Please also pray for those who have been victims of terrorism, for the Lord to heal them and strengthen the church amidst persecution.”
