(Worthy News) – The US Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) is considering whether any of the recent fire bomb and vandalism attacks on pro-life crisis pregnancy centers and churches are violations of FACE, an Act which makes it a federal crime to use force, the threat of force, or physical obstruction to prevent individuals from obtaining or providing reproductive health care services, Christian Today reports.

A spate of violent attacks on pro-life centers, including churches, was triggered following the leak draft Supreme Court opinion suggesting a majority of justices are in favor of reversing the 1973 Roe v Wade landmark case which legalized abortion up to viability nationwide.

According to a Christian Post source with knowledge of the matter, the FBI is investigating whether some of the attacks constitute violations of FACE, a law that allows reproductive health care providers, the state attorney general, and/or the federal government to file civil lawsuits for monetary damages or to obtain injunctions that block the offending behavior, Christian Today reports.

In a statement to reporters, the Bureau said: “The FBI is investigating a series of attacks and threats targeting pregnancy resource centers and faith-based organizations across the country.”

“The FBI takes all threats seriously and we continue to work closely with our law enforcement partners and will remain vigilant to protect our communities.”
