(Worthy News) – Two pro-life activists, aged 80 and 73 respectively, were violently assaulted by an unnamed white male suspect outside a Planned Parenthood abortion clinic in Baltimore, Maryland, on Friday, NTD reports.

A Baltimore Police Department incident report shows a witness reported that 80-year-old Richard Schafer had been talking to the suspect about pro-life v pro-choice views when the conversation became “visibly aggressive,” NTD reports. CCTV camera footage shows the suspect then attacking Schafer, tackling him over a large flower pot.

The camera footage goes on to show that 73-year-old Mark Crosby rushed to help Schafer, and that the suspect turned on him too, and forcefully pushed him to the ground with both hands. The suspect then leaned over and punched and kicked Crosby in the face “with extreme force,” the witness said. The suspect then made off.

Schafer sustained a laceration to his hand after the attack, and is now recovering at home, NTD reports. However, Crosby remains in hospital at the University of Maryland Shock Trauma unit, where he was diagnosed with a large blood clot over the eye socket and bleeding within the eye itself. He is in stable condition.

In a statement of fundraising for Crosby, Dr. Jay Walton, the president of the Baltimore County Right to Life chapter said: “For years, Mark has prayed in front of the Planned Parenthood in Baltimore City to let the scared, young abortion-minded women know that they are loved, that their baby is loved.”
