(Worthy News) – Ignoring Palestinian law which requires that the Palestinian Authority in the West Bank must approve all executions, the Hamas terror group which rules Gaza on Sunday sentenced seven people to death for “collaborating” with sworn enemy Israel, the Times of Israel (TOI) reports. The sentences were passed by the Hamas military court and announced by Hamas’ interior ministry.

In addition to issuing the death sentences, on Sunday the Hamas court sentenced seven other Gazans to “life imprisonment with hard labor,” also for collaborating with Israel, TOI reports.

The court said that those who had been sentenced to hanging were guilty of passing information to Israel about terror groups in Gaza, including names, phone numbers, addresses and weapons caches, in exchange for money, TOI said.

One of those sentenced to death was accused of passing information in return for a permit to work in Israel, TOI reports.

Hamas has repeatedly ignored the Palestinian directive that executions must be approved by the Palestinian Authority: the Islamic terror group which seized power in Gaza in 2007 executed two Palestinians last year for collaborating with Israel, and sentenced two others to death in April on the same charges, TOI reports. Hamas issued at least 17 death sentences last year, TOI said.
