(Worthy News) – Syria’s official SANA news agency reported that Israeli fighter jets launched attacks on multiple locations near Damascus, resulting in “material losses.”

Syrian state media did not provide additional information on the specifics of the attacks or their targets.

The Syrian opposition noted significant explosions at three locations associated with pro-Iranian militias and reported a fire in the Al-Yarmouk Palestinian refugee camp in southern Damascus. The cause of the fire, whether from debris of an air defense missile or directly from the strike, remains uncertain.

Meanwhile, the pro-Iranian Lebanese TV channel Al Mayadeen reported a significant explosion in Damascus’s heavily guarded Sayeda Zainab district, home to a prominent Shi’ite shrine, without offering further details.

Sources linked to the Syrian opposition have reported casualties among Hezbollah ranks, indicating that the missile strikes targeted facilities associated with the terror group and pro-Iranian militias.

Other reports from sources close to the Assad regime indicated that a military facility named after the martyr Hitham Suleiman, situated on the periphery of the Bebila suburb, was among the locations hit in the strike.

A Syrian radio station aligned with the Assad regime reported that the strike also targeted the village of Hajira and a location in the Al-Sayyidah Zainab neighborhood, leading to the deployment of firefighting teams to the affected sites.

Israel did not provide any comment on the airstrikes, maintaining its customary stance of not responding to reports of attacks beyond its northern borders. Both military and political leaders in the Jewish state have consistently asserted that Israel will not accept Iran’s presence in Syria.
