WASHINGTON/MILWAUKEE (Worthy News) – Pressure was mounting on the U.S. Secret Service chief to resign after revelations that the gunman who shot and injured former U.S. President Donald J. Trump in an assassination attempt had been on the radar of security for three hours before the attack.

Police even took a picture of him one hour ahead of the assassination attempt that Trump miraculously survived after a bullet passed his right ear, sources said.

In video footage seen by Worthy News, U.S. senators confronted Secret Service Director Kimberly Cheatle Wednesday in an area of the Republican National Convention.

U.S. House Speaker Mike Johnson and other top Republicans were calling for the resignation of Cheatle after revelations related to the alleged gunman, Thomas Matthew Crooks.

“I’m going to call for resignation,” Johnson said. “Look, I think it’s inexcusable. … Her explanation to the media was that there was a slant on the roof, so there was a safety concern — it doesn’t wash. And I think she’s shown what her priorities are.”

Other top Republicans also called her to step down, saying former President Trump nearly died at the rally in Pennsylvania under her watch.

Despite being injured, Trump has been seen daily at the ongoing Republican National Convention in Milwaukee, where his pick for vice president, J.D. Vance, spoke later Wednesday.

NIGHT OF HOPE

Vance told the RNC that he seeks to help Trump “make America great again.” “Tonight is the night of hope.”

Former Trump White House official Peter Navarro, released from prison Wednesday, also attended the RNC, saying the Biden administration for the “weaponization” of the justice system.

In his first speech since his release from a Florida prison for contempt of Congress, Navarro told the delegates in Milwaukee that he was four months behind bars because he did “not want to betray” President Trump.

He said he was just one example of what many on the right say is the Biden administration’s use of the judiciary to punish its political enemies.

Navarro had refused to testify over Trump’s alleged told in the Capitol riots on January 6, 2021.

They broke out after Trump and others raised doubts about the fairness of the presidential elections, which officials say Joe Biden won.

With polls now showing Trump far ahead, a World War Two veteran told the crowd in Milwaukee he would be ready “to fight at whatever beach where President Trump wants me to go.”
