Netanyahu Envisions ‘Abraham Alliance’ to Counter Iranian ‘Axis of Terror’

(Worthy News) – Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu outlined his vision for an ‘Abraham Alliance’ between Israel and Arab nations focused on the threat from Iran and its Islamist proxy terrorist organizations.

“The new alliance I envision would be a natural extension of the groundbreaking Abraham Accords,” Netanyahu explained to a joint session of Congress.

“Those accords established peace between Israel and four Arab nations, enjoying support from both Republicans and Democrats. … I have a name for this new alliance. I think we should call it the Abraham Alliance.”

He expressed gratitude to former US President Trump for facilitating the Abraham Accords, earning applause from the congressional members present.

Netanyahu explained that just as an alliance was formed after World War II to counter the Soviet threat, America, Israel, and their Arab partners must now forge a security alliance to address the growing Iranian axis of terror.

Netanyahu noted there was a “glimpse” of that alliance on April 14 when Iran launched its missile and drone attack against Israel. “Thank you, President Biden, for bringing that alliance together,” he added.

Netanyahu thanked Trump for “all the things he did for Israel — recognizing Israeli control over the Golan Heights, confronting Iran, ‘recognizing Jerusalem as our capital’ and moving the embassy there,” adding that Jerusalem is “Israel’s eternal capital, never to be divided again.”

Netanyahu expressed his optimism about Israel’s future, praising the “powerful and vibrant” democracy Jews had built. He also shared his optimism about America—”the beacon of liberty its founders envisioned back in 1776.”

He describes America as a “force for light and good in a dark and dangerous world.”

“Working together, I’m confident that our two nations will vanquish the tyrants and terrorists who threaten us both,” he declared.
