(Worthy News) – Commending last year’s October 7 attack on Israel in which Iran-backed Hamas killed children, raped women, and kidnapped elderly people, Iranian Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei stated Friday that Iran and its jihadist proxies “will not back down and Israel will not last long,” the Times of Israel (TOI) reports.

Khamenei’s address followed Israel’s recent assassination of his friend and ally, Hezbollah leader Hassan Nasrallah, in Beirut.

Holding a gun during a sermon at a mosque in Tehran, Khameini defended Iran’s ballistic missile attack on Israel last week, claiming: “What our armed forces did was the minimum punishment for the crimes of the usurping Zionist regime.” Khamenei specifically highlighted Hamas’ massacre and invasion of Israel last year, describing the Tehran-backed terrorists’ actions as “logical and legal” and adding that “no one has the right to criticize them.”

“The resistance in the region will not back down with these martyrdoms, and will win,” Khamenei told the thousands of people gathered at the Imam Khomeini Grand Mosalla mosque, TOI reports. “Israel will never defeat Hamas and Hezbollah,” Khamenei boasted.

Khamenei went on to describe the terror activities of Hamas, Hezbollah, and Yemen’s Houthi militants as offering a “fierce defense” against Israel, TOI said.
