(Worthy News) – U.S. President Donald Trump announced on Monday via a Truth Social post that he held a two-hour phone call with Russian President Vladimir Putin, which he claims will lead to immediate negotiations between Russia and Ukraine toward a ceasefire and an end to the war.

“I believe it went very well,” Trump wrote. “Russia and Ukraine will immediately start negotiations toward a Ceasefire and, more importantly, an END to the War.” He emphasized that the conditions of any potential peace agreement would be worked out directly between the two nations. “They know details of a negotiation that nobody else would be aware of,” he added.

Trump described the tone of the conversation as “excellent” and said he would have acknowledged otherwise if it had been different. According to the post, Putin expressed strong interest in pursuing “largescale TRADE” with the United States once the conflict concludes. “There is a tremendous opportunity for Russia to create massive amounts of jobs and wealth. Its potential is UNLIMITED,” Trump said. He also noted that Ukraine would benefit from international trade during the rebuilding process.

Following Putin’s call, Trump said he immediately contacted several key international leaders, including Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen, French President Emmanuel Macron, Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni, German Chancellor Friedrich Merz, and Finnish President Alexander Stubb.

Trump also revealed that the Vatican has expressed interest in hosting the negotiations. “Let the process begin!” he concluded.
