U.S. Intensifies Campaign Across Iran With Rapid Increase in Targets Hit

(Worthy News) – The U.S. military has struck 1,700 Iranian targets within the first 72 hours of the expanding conflict, according to a Tuesday update from U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM), signaling a sharp acceleration in the pace of operations.
In the opening 24 hours, American forces targeted 900 sites across Iran. The tempo slowed during the second day, with the total rising to 1,200 targets — an increase of 300 strikes over the previous report. However, by the 72-hour mark, the number had jumped to 1,700, reflecting 500 additional targets hit in the latest 24-hour period.
The renewed surge suggests the pace of U.S. strikes has nearly doubled compared to the previous reporting cycle, raising questions about whether this represents the “largest” phase of attacks previously referenced by President Donald Trump or a prelude to even broader operations later this week.
Unlike detailed battlefield summaries often released by Israel, CENTCOM’s updates have remained general in scope. The U.S. has consistently cited strikes on Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps command centers, naval assets, ballistic missile sites, and air defense systems, without providing specific locations or operational details.
The evolving tempo of operations underscores the intensifying nature of the conflict as American and allied forces continue to degrade Iran’s military capabilities.
