(Worthy News) – The International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) has confirmed that Iran’s Arak heavy water production plant was destroyed following a targeted strike attributed to the Israel Defense Forces, marking a significant escalation in efforts to dismantle Tehran’s nuclear infrastructure.

In a statement shared via social media, the IAEA acknowledged that the facility—long viewed as a key component in Iran’s potential plutonium production pathway—has been rendered inoperable. The Arak site has been under international scrutiny for years due to its capacity to support nuclear weapons development if reconfigured.

The IDF, in a separate post, confirmed responsibility for the strike, stating that the operation was part of Israel’s broader campaign to neutralize threats posed by Iran’s nuclear ambitions. Israeli officials have consistently maintained that preventing Iran from acquiring nuclear weapons remains a top national security priority.

Military analysts suggest the destruction of the plant represents a major setback for Iran’s nuclear capabilities, particularly in diversifying its pathways to a bomb beyond uranium enrichment.

The development comes amid ongoing regional conflict involving the United States and Israel against Iranian-backed forces, with tensions continuing to rise across multiple fronts. The confirmation by the IAEA lends international credibility to Israel’s claims and underscores the strategic significance of the strike.
