Israel Strikes More Than 40 Hezbollah Targets, Eliminates Over 100 Terrorists in Southern Lebanon

(Worthy News) – The Israeli military announced Sunday that it carried out a sweeping series of operations against the Iranian-backed terror organization Hezbollah in Southern Lebanon, striking more than 40 terror infrastructure sites and killing over 100 terrorists over the weekend.
According to the Israel Defense Forces, troops from the IDF’s 91st “Galilee” Division targeted weapons depots, rocket launchers, drone infrastructure, and additional military-use facilities tied to Hezbollah operations near Israeli forces operating inside Southern Lebanon.
“The infrastructure sites struck were used by Hezbollah terrorists to advance and carry out attacks against IDF soldiers operating in Southern Lebanon,” the military stated. “The IDF will continue to operate against threats directed at Israeli civilians and IDF soldiers, in accordance with directives from the political echelon.”
The latest escalation comes amid continued Hezbollah attacks against Israeli troops and northern Israeli communities despite an existing ceasefire arrangement.
On Sunday morning, the IDF reported two separate incidents in which the Israeli Air Force intercepted what it described as “suspicious aerial targets” near areas where Israeli troops were operating in Southern Lebanon. The military noted that no warning sirens were activated in nearby Israeli communities because the incidents fell under operational protocol thresholds. Similar aerial infiltration attempts were reported Saturday night.
Meanwhile, Hezbollah also continued launching attacks toward Israeli territory. On Saturday evening, the Israeli Air Force intercepted several aerial threats launched from Lebanon that triggered air-raid sirens across parts of northern Israel, including near Kibbutz Hanita. Earlier, another projectile fired from Lebanon activated alarms in the Kibbutz Bar’am region before landing in an open area. No injuries were reported.
The IDF said both incidents constituted direct violations of the ceasefire terms by Hezbollah.
Israeli forces responded with additional strikes Saturday evening, targeting Hezbollah weapons storage facilities and a drone launch site. Earlier in the day, the military destroyed two loaded rocket launchers positioned in Southern Lebanon.
“One of the launchers had previously fired toward IDF soldiers operating in Southern Lebanon, while another had launched rockets toward the State of Israel,” the military said.
The continued fighting highlights the fragile security situation along Israel’s northern border as tensions between Israel and Hezbollah remain elevated following months of cross-border attacks and military operations tied to the broader regional conflict involving Iran-backed terror groups.
For many Israelis living in northern communities, the repeated rocket alerts and drone threats underscore the ongoing challenge of restoring lasting security after years of Hezbollah entrenchment along the border.
