(Worthy News) – Israel has provided the United States with new intelligence indicating that Iran may be developing a fresh plan to assassinate President Donald Trump, according to people familiar with the matter cited by The Wall Street Journal.
The reported intelligence comes as the conflict between Washington and Tehran enters an increasingly dangerous phase, with Iranian officials and regime supporters renewing public threats against the American president.
Iran has repeatedly vowed to avenge the death of Qassem Soleimani, the powerful Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps commander killed in a U.S. drone strike ordered by Trump in January 2020.
The Israeli Embassy in Washington declined to comment on the intelligence, while Iran’s mission to the United Nations did not immediately respond. The White House referred questions to remarks Trump made Wednesday during the NATO summit in Ankara, Turkey.
“They want to take out the U.S. leader—me,” Trump told reporters. “I’m on every list. I saw this morning, I’m on every single one of their lists. And so far, I guess I’ve been a little bit lucky, but that maybe doesn’t last very long.”
The warning emerged amid visible signs of hostility toward Trump inside Iran. During the funeral procession for slain Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei, mourners chanted for the president’s death and displayed a large banner declaring, “We Will Kill Trump.”
The intelligence disclosure also comes at a sensitive moment in the relationship between Trump and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.
Netanyahu has reportedly pressed for sustained military operations against Iran and the completion of additional war objectives. Trump, however, has sought a path out of the fighting, warning that a prolonged regional war could destabilize global energy markets and damage the international economy.
The United States reached a fragile ceasefire with Iran last month, but renewed attacks and retaliatory strikes have placed that arrangement under severe strain.
Trump and Netanyahu spoke Thursday and agreed to continue coordination between their governments, according to the Israeli prime minister’s office. Trump also briefed Netanyahu on recent American military activity in the Persian Gulf.
The two leaders communicated frequently during the opening stages of the Iran war, with Netanyahu reportedly sharing Israeli intelligence and potential targets during late-night telephone calls. Their relationship has since shown signs of strain as their strategic priorities have diverged.
