Riots Break Out on Temple Mount following Friday Prayers

JERUSALEM, ISRAEL (Worthy News)– Hundreds of Palestinians attacked Israeli Police on the Temple Mount following Friday prayers resulting in at least five arrests.

According to police officials, the violence erupted at approximately 1 P.M. when officers patrolling the Temple Mount were pelted with rocks.

“Police quickly responded and entered the Temple Mount using non-lethal stun grenades to disperse the crowd,” said Police spokesman Micky Rosenfeld told the Jerusalem Post shortly after the incident.

Earlier this week, Mahmoud al-Habash, the former Palestinian Authority (PA) Minister of Religious Affairs, said there was a plot to destroy the Dome of the Rock is being planned by ‘extremist Jewish organizations.’ He claimed an attack on the Al-Aqsa Mosque may be carried out by a drone carrying large amounts of explosives or a small plane flown by a Jewish suicide bomber.

He called on Muslims from all over the world to come to Jerusalem and to protect the Islamic holy sites in Jerusalem from destruction.
