Police enter Temple Mount after Palestinians in Aksa mosque throw stones, firebombs


(Worthy News) – Dozens of police officers entered the Temple Mount complex early Monday morning after dozens of Palestinians holed up in al-Aksa mosque began hurling stones and firebombs at them, police said.

Security forces used crowd-dispersal methods and pushed the worshipers back into the mosque in order to calm things down.

According to authorities, Muslim worshipers used wood and steel barricades to prevent the police from entering the mosque and sealing the rioters inside. [ Source ]

Jerusalem police limit Muslim access to Temple Mount following violence

Jerusalem police on Sunday evening imposed an age restriction on Muslim worshipers entering the Temple Mount complex following violent clashes at site earlier in the day.

As of Sunday evening, Israeli security forces were limiting entrance to Jerusalem’s contested holy site to men over 50. Access remained open to women of all ages.

Earlier Sunday, masked Palestinian youth threw stones and firecrackers at Israeli police and Border Police on Jerusalem’s Temple Mount. [ Source ]
