(Worthy News) – U.S. rapper and entrepreneur Kanye West, who claims to be a born-again Christian, says he will run for president this year.

West, 43, would face Republican incumbent Donald Trump, who he had openly supported. He would also compete against Democratic challenger Joe Biden for president.

“We must now realize the promise of America by trusting God, unifying our vision, and building our future. I am running for president of the United States. #2020VISION,” West wrote on social media on Saturday, which was also America’s Independence Day.

West did not offer details about his party, platform, or who else might be on the ticket with him.

“You have my full support!” SpaceX and Tesla CEO Elon Musk tweeted in response to West’s latest announcement. West is married to media mogul Kim Kardashian. They have four young children together.

Critics say they doubt whether West is running. He does not appear to have registered his name with the Federal Election Commission (FEC) for November’s election.

The closest name the FEC database reportedly shows is a candidate called “Kanye Deez Nutz West,” who filed their papers with the Green Party in 2015. The candidate registered under the address “1977 Golddigger Avenue, Suite Yeezus” and appears to have raised no money.
