(Worthy News) – Health authorities in Norway confirmed Saturday that 23 people died within days of receiving their first dose of Pfizer-BioNTech coronavirus vaccine.

At least thirteen of the 23 deaths, all nursing home patients, were a direct result of side effects from the shot, officials suggested.

“The reports suggest that common adverse reactions to mRNA vaccines, such as fever and nausea, may have contributed to a fatal outcome in some frail patients,” warned Sigurd Hortemo, chief physician at the Norwegian Medicines Agency (NMA).

In a statement obtained by Worthy News, the NMA said, “As of 14 January, 23 reports of suspected deaths have been submitted to the Norwegian [Adverse Drug Reaction] ADR health registry”.

It added that the figures “include the thirteen reports that have been assessed by the Norwegian Medicines Agency and the National Institute of Public Health. Several reports of suspected adverse reactions are received on a daily basis and are continuously assessed.”

The NMA added that the death toll underscored concerns that the large trials to roll out the vaccine included few participants over 85 years of age.

FRAIL IN DANGER

“In Norway, we are now vaccinating the elderly and people in nursing homes with serious underlying diseases. Therefore it is expected that deaths close to the time of vaccination may occur, ” the NMA said.

However, “We cannot rule out that adverse reactions to the vaccine occurring within the first days following vaccination (such as fever and nausea) may contribute to more serious course and fatal outcome in patients with severe underlying disease.”

The NMA acknowledged that usually, in Norway, 400 people die each week in nursing homes and long-term care facilities.

However, the NMA and the National Institute of Public Health said they jointly assess all reports of “suspected adverse reactions” to the Pfizer-BioNTech jab.

“As a result, the Norwegian Institute of Public Health has updated the COVID -19 vaccination guide with more detailed advice on vaccinating the elderly who are frail.”

BROADER VACCINE CONCERNS

The revelations in Norway came amid global concerns about possible side effects of coronavirus shots. Last month, the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) said thousands of people suffered ‘health impact events’ due to COVID-19 vaccinations.

The CDC report obtained by Worthy News showed problems started almost immediately after the roll-out began of the Pfizer-BioNTech COVID-19 jab.

Out of 112,807 registered receivers of the vaccine, at least 3,150 people complained of “health impacts events” after the shot was administered, the report showed. The report cited figures over the December 14-18 period when the Pfizer-BioNTech vaccine distribution started in the United States. Side effects, including allergic reactions, were also reported in Britain and other countries.

Ironically, the Pfizer-BioNTech vaccine’s co-inventor wasn’t in a hurry to take the jab. Dr. Ugur Sahin invented the coronavirus vaccine with his wife, Dr. Özlem Türeci, after founding German biotechnology company BioNTech.

He confirmed to German media late last month that he had waited to take the vaccine himself, for “legal reasons,” though it was already tested on thousands and rolled out in several countries.
