Billy Graham Crusade Director Harvey Thomas Dies At 82

LONDON (Worthy News) – Harvey Thomas, who organized the evangelism rallies for the late evangelist Billy Graham in the turbulent 1960s and 1970s, has died. He was 82, his family said in published remarks Tuesday.
Thomas, former press chief of Britain’s Conservative Party, was the Billy Graham Crusade Director in 1960-1975, overseeing events worldwide.
He was also the chairman of the Fellowship of European Broadcasters, Trustee of Christian broadcaster Trans World Radio UK, among numerous other evangelism-related positions.
Additionally, he served on the Council of The Cremation Society of Great Britain as Non-Executive Director of The London Cremation Company PLC and Trustee of the Chartered Institute of Journalists (CIOJ) Orphan Fund.
His family said he was now called Home. “Daddy taught us so much about what it means to live a life full of integrity, forgiveness, faith, and love,” said his wife, Marlies, and daughters Leah and Lani. “His kindness and determination always to do what he felt were right left a lasting impact on all those he met. We grieve and miss him so deeply, but heaven rejoices. A hero of the faith is Home.”
An avid train enthusiast, with a 33-engine-strong model railway built in his garage, Harvey was an outspoken Christian, Christian friends said.
While preaching the Gospel around the world – he was seen as a “wise, loyal and loving Husband, Daddy, Opa, and Friend,” his family added.
Funeral arrangements were not immediately announced.
